What is SEO Search Engine Optimisation ?

Search Engine Optimisation, (SEO), is a way of improving a website or webpage in the SERPS (search engine result pages), by doing certain activities.

Hi. My name is Martin and I am a Guernsey SEO expert, yes, right here in Guernsey. Since 2008, I have been involved in building simple websites, monetising them and getting them to rank in the search engines, in particular, Google. Most of the websites that I have ranked for in the search engines, Google, rank globally and for hard to rank search terms, (keywords), such as the forex market.

 There are many aspects to SEO, on page and off page optimisation. On page being the site architecture and its content, off page being social media, backlinking and promotions.

I am here to provide off page SEO in Guernsey, for local websites, mainly backlinking to your site. This means obtaining links from other websites to your website. A large part of Google’s algorithm, (ranking formula), uses links to your site to rank your site. They see backlinks as a vote of confidence.

So far I have only done seo for my own websites and for a couple of my friends websites. Getting a website to rank locally is far easier because most companies will want to have the word Guernsey in the search term.

I did seo for my friend who owns www.eahcs.co.uk. The search terms are “Guernsey solar panels” and “Guernsey solar heat pumps” and variants of these. If you check on Google, his site will be 2nd on page 1. He has told me that he is getting between 2 to 3 jobs per month due to his website being No.2 in Google.

If you search for “Guernsey seo”, I am top of the page 1 and I have other web properties on page 1 also.

I do white hat methods of seo such as creating blogs on web 2.0 properties such as Blogger and Wordpress etc and create articles with backlinks on them. I also use social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest etc. I also use PDF sharing platforms and bookmarking sites to create useful content that has a link back to the clients website.

At the moment I am looking at seo prices from other Guernsey seo companies. There aren’t that many really. One of them charges £750 per month for ongoing seo services! Crikey! The others don’t really offer seo services as such, they just rely on an optimised website to get the ranking but to be honest, some of them are not optimised very well.

I have also been looking at other seo services mainly in the UK and USA and they charge between £60 to £300 per hour !
